Jamie Burchfield, MBA, is an experienced operations and continuous improvement leader with a strong background in manufacturing and engineering. Currently serving as Director of Operations at American Art Clay Company since October 2015, Jamie oversees multiple departments, including Manufacturing and Facilities, while driving enterprise Continuous Improvement transformations for a nearly 100-year-old, $27M company. Previous roles include Global Continuous Improvement Manager at Firestone Industrial Products, where Jamie managed cost reduction initiatives across seven manufacturing facilities, and Sr. Industrial Engineer/Training Department Manager at Boston Scientific, focusing on training compliance and operational efficiency. Jamie holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Science in Quality from Indiana State University.

AMACO was founded in 1919 on the belief that great art materials inspire great artists and since then we have been the industry leader in Ceramic Art Supply manufacturing. We produce everything an individual needs to create ceramic art including Brent pottery wheels and equipment, glazes and underglazes, and a large line of clay products. Over the last 100 years we’ve focused our efforts on growing the ceramic educational market by creating lesson plans, tutorials, videos, and participating in countless educational events. Along with this, AMACO specializes in the formulation of ceramic decorative glazes, slurry development, metal fabrication, clay blending and much more all in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana.
