Maryanne Elma

MaryAnne Elma has an extensive work experience history. MaryAnne currently serves as the Chief Science and Policy Officer at the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine. In this role, they oversee various areas, including science and practice, publishing, lifelong learning, global affairs, and advocacy in the field of laboratory medicine.

Prior to their current role, MaryAnne held several positions at the American College of Cardiology. MaryAnne was the Senior Director of Enterprise Content and Digital Strategy, where they transformed the organization's strategy for clinical content dissemination. MaryAnne also led partnerships with the American Heart Association for clinical practice guideline development and publication.

MaryAnne also served as the Senior Director of Science and Quality, overseeing clinical practice guidelines, quality improvement programs, patient engagement, and serving as a senior liaison to registry and accreditation oversight committees. MaryAnne had a significant role in leading the organization-wide guideline roll-out.

Before these roles, MaryAnne held different positions at the American College of Cardiology, including Director of Quality Innovation and Implementation, Associate Director of Research and Development, Associate Director of Quality Services, and Manager of Quality Improvement Initiatives.

Additionally, prior to their work at the American College of Cardiology, MaryAnne worked as a Paralegal at Covington & Burling from 1996 to 1998.

MaryAnne Elma's education history includes a High School Diploma from McDonogh School. MaryAnne also holds a BA in Sociology of Law and History of Medicine from Bucknell University. In addition, they have a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
