Jennifer Sargent

Jennifer Sargent is the Director of Research & Data Analytics for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). In this capacity, Jen and her team support a variety of research and data projects that further AAAS’ strategic mission and goals. Areas of focus include data collection and reporting to support AAAS’ diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts; program evaluation; linking different data sources; data visualization; and promoting data literacy and evidence-based decision making.

Prior to joining AAAS, Jen was a Senior Project Manager/Research Analyst at New Editions Consulting, Inc. There, she led the production of the Annual Report to Congress for the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education and supported projects for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration Community Living.

Over the course of about 25 years, Jen has been employed by the non-profit Child Trends, Inc. and other government consulting organizations that supported clients such as the National Institutes of Health and various branches of the U.S. military; all with the goal of using data to improve the lives of others. She received her master’s in public policy from Georgetown University.
