James Hayes-Bohanan

James Hayes-Bohanan is a Professor of Geography at Bridgewater State University, where responsibilities include teaching courses on environmental geography and the geography of coffee, while also implementing geography programs in primary and secondary schools. Currently serving on the International Research and Scholarship Committee of the American Association of Geographers, James supports global education initiatives. Previous experience includes a role as a Board Member for the non-profit Terra Cura, promoting permaculture in Massachusetts, and serving as Director for the Natural Resources Trust of Bridgewater. Earlier professional roles involved conducting environmental audits at Dames & Moore and project coordination at The Wornick Company. James earned a PhD in Geography from the University of Arizona and holds a Master of Arts from Miami University, along with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
