Associate Executive Director, Continuing Education, Meetings And Exhibitions at American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Beth Hayson, MBA, CAE, CMP has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Beth began their career as a Meeting Services Coordinator at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) from October 2000 to July 2002. Following this, they worked at Lutheran General Hospital as a Child Life Specialist and Support Group Facilitator from April 2000 to December 2002.

In 2002, Beth joined the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). Beth initially served as a Sr. Staff Associate in Practice Management from December 2002 to September 2010. Later, they took on the role of Manager in Continuing Education from September 2010 to April 2014. Subsequently, Beth worked at the Academy of General Dentistry as a Director of Education from May 2014 to September 2015.

Beth rejoined the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in September 2015 as the Director of Continuing Education until February 2018. Following this, they were promoted to Associate Executive Director, overseeing Continuing Education, Meetings, and Exhibitions. In this role, Beth managed educational projects, organized the Annual Meeting and Dental Implant Conference, and supervised corporate sponsorship development and support.

In 2016, Beth also worked as an Independent Distributor at Shaklee Corporation.

Throughout their career, Beth has demonstrated expertise in education program development, event management, and sponsorship development. Beth has also provided therapeutic and support services to pediatric and adolescent patients during their time at Lutheran General Hospital.

Beth Hayson, MBA, CAE, CMP has an extensive education history. Beth completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Illinois State University from 1992 to 1996. Beth further pursued their academic career by earning a Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Illinois State University between 1996 and 1998.

After gaining valuable knowledge and expertise in their field, Beth decided to pursue higher education and obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from North Park University from 2006 to 2008. This degree helped their develop a strong foundation in managing non-profit and organizational activities.

Additionally, Beth has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In 2018, they became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through ASAE, recognizing their expertise in association management. Following that, they achieved the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in January 2020 from the Events Industry Council, showcasing their proficiency in meeting planning and management.

Beth has also actively engaged in professional development related to the events industry. Beth completed the Virtual Event & Meeting Management course from the Event Leadership Institute in July 2020, demonstrating their abilities in managing virtual events. Moreover, they recently obtained Pandemic Meeting & Event Design and Pandemic On-Site Protocol Training certifications from the Event Leadership Institute in January and February 2021, respectively.

Beth's education, including their degrees in Psychology, Family and Consumer Sciences, and their MBA with a focus on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management, along with their certifications, particularly CAE and CMP, have equipped their with a diverse skillset and a strong foundation in various fields relevant to their professional career.
