Neelab Y.

Neelab Y. serves as the Governance and Committee Specialist at the American Astronomical Society since February 2020 and has been the President and Founder of the Fresh Start Refugee Assistance Center since April 2017. Previous experience includes serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) at SCAN of Northern Virginia from September 2020 to January 2022, a Practice Management Assistant at Venable LLP from November 2016 to August 2018, a Legal Assistant at Hausfeld from September 2014 to October 2016, and an Executive/Project Assistant at Liberty Partners Group from June 2013 to August 2014. Neelab Y. also worked as an Event Manager for Empowered Women International from September 2011 to August 2012. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University (2018-2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from American University.
