Matt Jones

Matt Jones currently serves as the Deputy Director for Operations and Division Chief at the Joint Staff J-3 since August 2023. In parallel, Matt Jones has been a Commissioner for the American Battle Monuments Commission since November 2021. With a distinguished career in the United States Air Force starting in June 1999, Matt Jones has held numerous leadership positions, including Wing Commander at both the 89th and 436th Airlift Wings, Vice Commander, and Executive Officer. Matt Jones' extensive military experience also includes roles as a C-5 Instructor Pilot and policy advisor within the Department of Defense. Academically, Matt Jones holds multiple graduate degrees, including a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. Matt Jones has also owned IceWraps LLC and participated in leadership programs such as the Foreign Policy Initiative.
