Rich Cobb has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Rich started their career in 1979 as a US Navy SEAL, serving with SEAL Team TWO until 1990. Rich then joined the US Navy as a Naval Officer (Pilot), undergoing training in Pensacola, Florida, and later flying with the French Navy in Toulon, France until 2005. Following their time in the Navy, they worked as the Director of Logistics for the American Battle Monuments Commission from 2005 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, they served as the Director of Security for the same organization. Lastly, they held the position of Superintendent and Chief of Administration at the ABMC, overseeing the operations and maintenance of a 30-acre site and Visitor Centre.
Rich Cobb has a diverse education history. Rich began their education journey at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, where they obtained a French Language Diploma. This period of study does not have specific start and end years.
Following this, in the years 1988 to 1990, Rich attended Old Dominion University, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in History.
In 1991, they enrolled in the United States Navy Flight School, where they pursued a degree in Fixed Wing and Rotor Wing Naval. This program concluded in 1993.
More recently, from 2016 to 2018, Rich attended the University of Cambridge, where they successfully completed a Certificate & Diploma Course in Executive Coaching, focusing on the field of Executive Coaching.

ABMC is an agency of the government of the United States of America and administers, operates and maintains 26 permanent American military cemeteries and 30 federal memorial, monuments and markers located in 17 foreign countries, the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the British Dependency of Gibraltar. Three of the memorials are located within the United States. These cemeteries and memorials, most of which commemorate the service and sacrifice of Americans who served in World War I and World II, are among the most beautiful and meticulously maintained shrines in the world. The majority of positions for US citizens are for Cemetery Superintendents and Assistants, though occasionally there are positions in other fields at our headquarters in Arlington, Virginia or at our Overseas Operations Office in Paris, France.
