Allison Starmann currently serves as the General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Legal and Regulatory at American Beverage, a position held since August 2024. Previously, Starmann worked at the American Chemistry Council from September 2009 to July 2024, where roles included General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and Assistant General Counsel. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 2006 to 2009 and as Enforcement Counsel to the Assistant Administrator from 2004 to 2006. Starmann began a career in law as an Associate in Environmental Law at Winston & Strawn LLP from 1998 to 2004. Starmann holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Notre Dame Law School, obtained in 1998, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, earned in 1993.

ABA was founded in 1919 as the American Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages, and renamed the National Soft Drink Association in 1966. Today the ABA represents hundreds of beverage producers, distributors, franchise companies and support industries. Together, they bring to market hundreds of brands, flavors and packages, including regular and diet soft drinks, bottled water and water beverages, 100 percent juice and juice drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks and ready-to-drink teas.
