The ABR is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). We were founded to protect the public by assessing and certifying doctors who meet specific educational, training, and professional requirements.

The Exam Management and Support team at the American Board of Radiology is responsible for overseeing the creation, administration, and support of certification and recertification exams. This includes coordinating with various committees to develop exam content, managing exam logistics, providing technical support, and assisting diplomates throughout the examination process to ensure that candidates meet the rigorous standards necessary for board certification.
