Stergios Stamopoulos

Stergios Stamopoulos has extensive experience in the marine and maritime sectors, currently serving as the Director of Global Sustainability for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) since December 2007, overseeing sustainability efforts in the Americas and Europe. Prior roles at ABS included Manager of the Houston Sustainability Center and Principal Engineer, contributing to corporate sustainability programs and technology advancements in human factors and ergonomics. Earlier career highlights include a Plan Approval Surveyor position at Hellenic Register of Shipping and roles as a Junior Naval Architect and Apprentice Marine Engineer. Stamopoulos holds a Master of Philosophy in Marine Technology and a Master of Science in Marine Engineering from Newcastle University, complemented by a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from the University of Glasgow.
