Bryan Brooks is a distinguished professor of Environmental Science and Public Health at Baylor University since 2002, currently serving on the Council Executive Committee at AAAS since March 2024. Brooks holds various leadership roles, including Director of the Environmental Health Science Program at the American Chemical Society and Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Science & Technology Letters at the Royal Society Te Apārangi since April 2023. Additionally, Brooks has contributed as a Visiting Laborde Endowed Chair for Sea Grant Research and Technology Transfer at Louisiana Sea Grant, Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters in the Czech Republic, and Visiting Pearl River Scholar Chair Professor at Jinan University. Prior editorial roles include Editor-in-Chief at Springer Nature and Visiting Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury. Notably, Brooks was also a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Water and the Environment. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of North Texas and both MS and BS degrees in Biological Sciences from the University of Mississippi.
