James Liu

James Liu is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the Director of Information Technology Development at the American Chemical Society since 2021. In this role, James is responsible for technology platform support, AI applications, data warehouse development, and cloud modernization. Prior to this position, James held various roles at ACS from 2002 to 2021, including Assistant Director, where responsibilities included leading software development teams and implementing artificial intelligence and machine learning for enhanced workflow efficiency and user experience. James holds a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an M.S. in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China.
