Sam Jones, PhD, is an accomplished science communicator and freelance journalist with extensive experience in the field of biomedical science. Currently serving as Executive Producer and Co-Host of the PBS Digital Studios series "Tiny Matters" and as a Science Writer and Host for the American Chemical Society, Sam has also contributed to "Reactions" and "Orbitals." Previously, Sam worked as a Freelance Science Journalist and Assistant Editor for Chemical & Engineering News, with contributions to reputable publications including The New York Times and Scientific American. Sam's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from UC San Diego, where research focused on RNA's role in neurological development, and a B.A. in Biology from Vassar College. Additionally, experience as a research technician at the Stowers Institute and a course assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory has enhanced Sam's scientific expertise.
