Sarah Cottrell Propst

Sarah Propst currently serves as the Vice President of State Affairs at the American Clean Power Association, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Sarah was the Cabinet Secretary for the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department of New Mexico from January 2019 to December 2023. From May 2012 to December 2018, Sarah was the Executive Director of the Interwest Energy Alliance, a non-profit trade association focused on renewable energy. Additionally, Sarah founded and led Propst Consulting, LLC, from January 2011 to December 2018, providing strategic guidance in the energy and environment sectors. Previous positions include Deputy Cabinet Secretary at the New Mexico Environment Department, Energy & Environmental Policy Advisor in the Office of Governor Bill Richardson, an internship with the Grand Canyon Trust, and a Research Fellow at the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. Sarah holds a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Davidson College.
