Emma O'Riley has extensive work experience in various roles within the communications, marketing, and creative fields. Emma started their career as a Graphic Designer at O'Reilly Media in 2000 and worked there until 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they served as an Art Director, New Business Development at Rafael Viñoly Architects. Emma then joined the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2008 as an Art Director and continued in that role until 2014. Emma subsequently held positions such as Creative Director, Associate Director of Operations and Creative Director, Director of Product Marketing, and currently serves as the Vice President of Communications and Marketing Operations at the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Emma O'Riley attended Concordia University from 1993 to 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics with a minor in Art History. Apart from their formal education, they have obtained additional certifications, including "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences" and "Inclusive Mindset for Committed Allies" from LinkedIn, which they achieved in June 2021.
