Patricia Higgins

Patricia Higgins is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public relations, marketing, and editorial roles. Currently serving as the Manager for the American Diabetes Association since October 2012, Patricia oversees public relations and marketing efforts for the Central Carolinas and manages the Central Carolinas Father of the Year Awards. Previous roles include Universal Editor at The Charlotte Observer, Editor of two weekly newspapers for the Carolina Weekly Newspaper Group, and Senior Vice President, Managing Director at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide. Patricia's earlier positions include Executive Vice President at Marcy Monyek and Associates and Senior Director of Corporate Communications at World Book, Inc., alongside foundational experience as a Reporter for the Chicago Tribune. Patricia holds a B.S. degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
