George Wimberly

George Wimberly serves as the Director of Professional Development and Diversity Officer at the American Educational Research Association since June 2006. Previously, George held the position of Coordinator of Applied Research at Montgomery County Public Schools from November 2004 to June 2006, and served as a Research Associate at ACT from 2000 to 2005. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Analyst with Chicago Public Schools from October 1996 to August 2000 and as a Research Associate at Policy Studies Associates from 1994 to 1996. George obtained an AM/Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago between 1992 and 2000 and an AB in Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross from 1988 to 1992.
