Membership Chair, Research On Women And Education, SIG at American Educational Research Association

Kathryn Washington serves as the Membership Chair for the Research on Women and Education Special Interest Group at the American Educational Research Association since April 2022. Kathryn is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Lamar University, a position held since August 2019. Additionally, Kathryn is the Past President of Region 6 for the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) and a TCWSE Officer for the Texas Council of Women School Executives, focusing on supporting women in administrative roles. Previous roles include Adjunct Professor at Houston Baptist University and Principal at Goodrich ISD. Kathryn began a career in education as a Mathematics Teacher in Beaumont ISD and has held various administrative positions in Klein ISD. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Prairie View A&M University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Lamar University.
