Jason Bertsch has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Jason began their career as a Car Detailer at Auto Plus Car Wash in 1988. Later, they worked as an Apprentice Plumber at Martin Mechanical Athens GA from 1989 to 1990. In 1991, they served as an Assistant Chef at Redfish Lake Lodge. Jason then gained editorial experience as an Editorial Intern at Congressional Quarterly in 1992 and as an Editor at The Public Interest from 1996 to 1998. Jason furthered their policy expertise by being a Legislative Fellow/Intern for US Senate, Sam Nunn (D-GA) in 1993 and a Deputy Director of Policy at Empower America from 1998 to 2000. Jason then transitioned into the field of education and public affairs, becoming the Vice President of Public Affairs at K12 from 2000 to 2002. Currently, they hold executive roles at American Enterprise Institute, serving as a Senior Vice President since 2002 and Executive Vice President since June 2018.
Jason Bertsch completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government at Davidson College from 1990 to 1994. In 1995, they pursued further education at The Claremont Institute as a Publius Fellow, also focusing on Political Science and Government. Following that, they attended the University of Toronto from 1994 to 1995 and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Political Science and Government.
