Manager – Head Of Valuation And Pricing at American Equity

Philip Wang has over 20 years of work experience in various roles in the financial industry. Philip is currently the Manager and Head of Valuation and Pricing at American Equity. Prior to this, they worked for Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. as a Vice President in Valuation for ten years. In this role, they gained expertise in credit strategies and managed a team of professionals across different locations. Before that, Philip worked at KPMG Advisory as a Structured Finance Senior Associate, where they specialized in modeling waterfall payments, liquidity risk, and Basel III. Philip also worked at Deloitte as a Valuation Associate, performing various valuations for clients in mergers, acquisitions, and financial reporting. Philip's early career includes an internship at U.B.S. and a position as a Law Clerk at Garrett & Tully. Philip started their professional journey in the United States Marine Corps, where they reached the rank of Sergeant and gained experience in leadership and supervision.

Philip Wang completed their education at three different institutions. From 2004 to 2006, they attended Pasadena City College, where they pursued finance studies. Then, from 2006 to 2008, they studied finance at Fordham University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree. Lastly, from 2014 to 2017, Philip attended the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on finance, specifically in the field of General Finance.
