Douglas Austen serves as the Executive Director of the American Fisheries Society since August 2013. Prior to this role, Austen also worked as the National Coordinator for Landscape Conservation Cooperatives at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Austen has an extensive educational background in fisheries, holding a Ph.D. from Iowa State University, a Master's degree from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor's degree from South Dakota State University.
