American Fork City is managed by a council and mayor form of government, with a City Administrator managing the daily affairs of the City. The Urban Planning and Development Team at American Fork City is responsible for overseeing and guiding the city’s growth and development initiatives. This team includes the Planner II, City Engineer, Building Inspector, and Senior Planner, who collectively ensure that construction and development projects align with zoning laws, safety standards, and the city's long-term urban planning goals. They also focus on enhancing infrastructure, enforcing building codes, and facilitating sustainable, community-oriented growth to maintain American Fork’s unique charm while supporting its steady expansion.
