Eric Newman

Grants Officer/international Programs at American Friends Service Committee

Eric Newman has extensive experience in international operations and grants management, currently serving as the Grants Officer for International Programs at the American Friends Service Committee since January 2015. In this role, Eric maintains relationships and solicits funding from a diverse portfolio of 40-60 institutional donors, including foundations and governments. Previously, Eric held leadership positions at HIAS from 1996 to 2013, including Senior Director of International Operations, where oversight of country offices and management systems were a focus. Eric's educational background includes a Master's degree in Theological Studies from Harvard University, a Bachelor's degree in Religion/Religious Studies from Colgate University, and research experience at Columbia University and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
