Nasrin Rafiq is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in gender mainstreaming, immigrant and refugee support, and women's empowerment programs, primarily in Afghanistan and the United States. Currently serving as the Afghanistan Migration Coordinator at the American Friends Service Committee since August 2021, Nasrin also holds a position as Commissioner of the Immigrant and Refugee Task Force and Human Relations Commission for the Borough of Highland Park, NJ. With a background that includes roles such as Country Director and Lead Project Manager for Women's Campaign International, Gender Team Leader at USAID, and Gender Advisor for the Department of Defense, Nasrin has demonstrated a commitment to advancing women's rights, providing translation services, and coordinating initiatives for new immigrants and refugees. Nasrin holds multiple degrees in Languages and Literature from Kabul University and has completed specialized training in gender from Italy.
