Chris Turner

Chris Turner is an experienced professional with a strong background in sports writing, editing, and communications. Currently serving as the Region Grassroots Manager at the American Heart Association since July 2021, Chris has a history of impactful roles, including Media & Communications Manager at The Association for Nonsmokers-MN from July 2013 to June 2021, where advocacy and storytelling positively influenced public health in Minnesota. Prior experience includes positions as a freelance editor and writer, Assistant Sports Editor at The Anniston Star, Sports Writer/Assistant Sports Editor at Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, and various writing roles at Montgomery Advertiser, The Dothan Eagle, and The Walker County Messenger. Chris holds a B.A. in Journalism from Auburn University, earned between 1988 and 1992.
