Heather Goodell

Vice President, Scientific Publishing at American Heart Association

Heather Goodell worked as the Vice President of Scientific Publishing at the American Heart Association from August 2002. Heather was responsible for the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of scientific publishing projects and programs. Additionally, they wrote and maintained policies and strategies related to scientific publishing, directed the production and distribution of scientific statements and practice guidelines.

Prior to their role at the American Heart Association, Heather worked as a Development Editor at Pearson Education (Sams Publishing) starting from April 1999 to October 2002. Here they represented the reader to the author, edited material for clarity, and reviewed manuscripts for accuracy and adherence to guidelines. Heather also conducted market research and identified potential book ideas in areas such as Open Source software, XML, and network security.

Heather Goodell completed their education with a BA (with honors) in journalism from the University of Houston in 1991. Heather also earned a MIS degree from the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University Bloomington in 2001.
