Laura Gorr

National Director, Marketing & Communications at American Heart Association

Laura Gorr has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Laura began their career in 1999 as an Assistant to the Scouting Director for the Kansas City Royals. From 2000 to 2004, they worked as the Assistant Director of Media Relations for the Chicago Wolves. In 2003, they joined Sourcebooks as an Associate Publicist. In 2005, they worked as a Public Relations Manager for Chicagoland Speedway. Since 2007, Laura has been with the American Heart Association, starting as the Regional Vice President of Communications and Internal Communications. In this role, they supervised communications and marketing efforts in major metros across the Midwest and also oversaw communications in other cities. Laura then served as the National Communications Lead for Issues Management before becoming the National Director of Marketing & Communications.

Laura Gorr received their Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, which they attended from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Bishop Miege High School from 1991 to 1995.
