Steven Weiss

National Vice President, Advocacy Communications at American Heart Association

Steven Weiss is an experienced communications professional with a focus on health policy and advocacy. Steven currently serves as the National Vice President of Advocacy Communications at the American Heart Association, where they lead a team responsible for internal and external communications efforts in support of public policies that promote cardiovascular health. Prior to this role, Steven worked as a Senior Vice President at Edelman, where they provided expertise in media relations, grassroots communications, and executive thought leadership. Steven also served as the Senior Director of Communications and Media Advocacy at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, leading comprehensive communications efforts on cancer-related health policies. Steven began their career as a reporter for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, covering events of interest to the Jewish community. Steven Weiss completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government at the University of California, Davis from 1986 to 1990. Subsequently, they pursued a Juris Doctor degree in Law at the Santa Clara University School of Law from 1990 to 1993.
