Previously, Laura held positions such as Managing Editor at Nursing Clio, Editor at the American Society of Civil Engineers, and various teaching and educational roles at the College of William and Mary. Laura also has experience in social media management, writing, and research in history. Laura holds a BA in History and American Studies from Case Western Reserve University and an MA and PhD in History from William & Mary.

The American Historical Association is a nonprofit membership organization founded in 1884 and incorporated by Congress in 1889 for the promotion of historical studies.
