Marty Downey, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, CHTP/I, serves as faculty for the American Holistic Nurses Association’s Integrative Healing Arts Program, contributing to holistic nursing education since January 2018. Downey also mentors research projects at St. Luke's Health System, where involvement includes roles as a research mentor and integrative medicine consultant since 2010. As Faculty Advisor at the BirchTree Center for Healthcare Transformation since June 2009, Downey supports healthcare transformation initiatives. In academia, Downey holds the position of Emeritus Associate Professor at Boise State University, with a teaching career spanning over 25 years, and now teaches an adjunct course in Holistic Nursing. Downey earned a PhD in Adult and Organizational Leadership and Learning from the University of Idaho, a Master's in Nursing Education from Idaho State University, and a BSN from Marycrest College School of Nursing.
