William L. Gertz

William Gertz is a prominent leader in the field of international education and exchange. Currently serving as Chairman of AIFS, Inc. since January 2018, Gertz also holds a position on the AIFS Foundation Board and as a Trustee of the Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation. Previous roles include CEO of the American Institute For Foreign Study from 2004 to January 2022, and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Alliance for International Exchange from October 2015 to July 2018. Gertz’s earlier experience includes roles as COO and Marketing Director at AIFS from 1985 to 2004 and Marketing Manager at CIEE from 1976 to 1978. Gertz holds a BA in European History from Binghamton University and an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration International Relations from Richmond, The American International University in London. Additional education was pursued at Harvard Business School.
