Heather Langille, RD, M.A. has extensive work experience in various roles related to worksite wellness, health education, and nutrition. Heather has worked as a Wellness Writer and Health Education Program Developer for the American Institute for Preventive Medicine since 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant specializing in worksite wellness and nutrition education programs. Heather also served as a Public Health Educator at Oakland County, Michigan Government, where they supported a grant project promoting healthy eating, physical activity, and breastfeeding.
Furthermore, Heather has worked as a Worksite Wellness Program Coordinator and Care Manager at Medical Network One, where they provided chronic disease self-management and nutrition education. In addition, they coordinated multiple worksite wellness programs throughout southeast Michigan with a focus on diabetes and cardiovascular prevention/management education.
In their role as a Nutritionist at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, they guided the development and implementation of the Workplace Wellness Program for over 40 worksites. Heather also served as the nutrition lead on all worksite-based initiatives and provided program support to DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc.
Heather has also worked across various public health departments as a Community/Public Health Nutritionist. In this role, they developed and implemented community nutrition programs, provided nutrition presentations to various audiences, and offered individual nutrition counseling with a focus on diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention/management, as well as prenatal nutrition and alcohol/drug rehabilitation programs.
Heather Langille, RD, M.A. holds a Master of Arts in Health Education with a research thesis from Dalhousie University. Heather also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Mount St. Vincent University. Additionally, Heather holds certifications as a Registered Dietitian from both the U.S. Commission on Dietetic Registration and the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
