Guangzhao Mao is an esteemed academic with significant leadership roles in engineering and chemical disciplines. Currently serving as Adjunct Professor and Head of School at the School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW and as Head of School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh since September 2024, Guangzhao is also a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers since February 2022. Previously, Guangzhao held the position of Department Chair and Professor at Wayne State University from August 1995 to February 2020, and participated in the ELATES fellowship at Drexel University from July 2014 to June 2015. Guangzhao's international experience includes a Visiting Professorship at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces and a Senior Scholarship with The Fulbright Program in 2002. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Nanjing University.
