Anna Warren

Qualitative Researcher For International Development at American Institutes for Research

Anna Warren has a diverse work experience that spans several organizations and roles. Anna began their career at The Fellows Initiative as a Briarwood Fellow, participating in a post-graduate leadership program focused on integrating faith and work. Anna also took theology classes and engaged in international ministry during this time. Anna then worked as a Program and Family Coordinator at aTeam Ministries, where they coordinated programs to support families affected by pediatric cancer and managed grant-writing and volunteer coordination.

Anna then transitioned to Thriive Nicaragua as an Evaluation Consultant, collaborating on a community impact evaluation of a pay-it-forward loan program. Anna conducted focus group interviews and developed a database for storing and analyzing data. Anna also interned at The Nashville Food Project, where they collaborated with community partners to reduce food waste and evaluated a food program's impact.

Anna's next role was as a Gender Protection Intern at Samaritan's Purse, where they developed a comprehensive training manual for a sexual- and gender-based violence prevention program and participated in regional protection cluster meetings. Anna then worked at Vanderbilt University as both a Socioemotional Development Research Assistant and an Ethics Education Research Assistant. In these roles, they conducted research on children's socio-emotional competencies and assessed student outcomes in an undergraduate ethics class.

Anna's work experience also includes a role as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Senegal, where they taught and facilitated English language programs at the U.S. Embassy's American Spaces and served as a cultural ambassador. Anna also worked as an International Education Researcher at To Move Mountains Projects, providing quality education services in a conflict-affected region of Sudan and conducting qualitative and quantitative research studies on education.

Most recently, Anna has been working at Catholic Charities of Tennessee, Inc. as a Refugee Youth Program Staff member. In this role, they led virtual programming for refugee youth, managed a caseload of students to support their transition to virtual schooling, and overcame barriers to learning.

Anna currently holds the position of Qualitative Research Associate for International Development at the American Institutes for Research.

Anna Warren earned a Master's Degree in Community Development & Action from Vanderbilt University between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Educational Psychology at Mississippi State University from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their educational background, Anna received the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Recipient certification from the Fulbright Association in 2018.
