Daniel Daponte

Research Associate at American Institutes for Research

Daniel Daponte is currently working as a Research Assistant in the Learning Supports program at the American Institutes for Research. In this role, they provide administrative support to technical assistance projects related to early childhood education, multilingual education, and special education. Daniel also conducts interviews and qualitative data analysis.

Prior to this, Daniel served as the Chief Justice in the Boston University Student Government from May 2021 to May 2022. Daniel was responsible for organizing student government elections and re-organized election policies for the executive board and senate at-large elections. Daniel also planned engaging election events such as debates and town halls.

Daniel also worked as a Writing Consultant at Boston University from September 2019 to May 2022. In this role, they tutored undergraduate students to improve their writing and analytical skills. Daniel also supported ESL and international students in acclimating to American linguistic and academic standards.

From May 2020 to January 2022, Daniel worked as a Pro Shop Student Supervisor at the Boston University Fitness & Recreation Center. Along with their responsibilities as a Pro Shop Attendant, they managed a team of 48 student staff, conducted performance audits, and trained new staff. Daniel also maintained inventory for the Lost & Found department.

In January 2021, Daniel served as a Thomas M. Menino Fellow at the National League of Cities. Daniel assisted the Early Childhood Success team in identifying partner politicians to strengthen the Cities Supporting the Early Childhood Workforce Program. Daniel also collaborated with the Education Team on student re-engagement initiatives in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Daniel Daponte pursued their education from 2018 to 2022 at Boston University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree. During their time there, they focused on two fields of study: Environmental Analysis & Policy and Urban Studies. In 2020, they also participated in the Boston University Initiative on Cities, where they furthered their knowledge and understanding of Political Science and Government.
