Emily Loney

Emily Loney, PMP, has a strong background in research, education policy, and analysis. Emily currently works as a Senior Researcher at the American Institutes for Research, where they support educators in connecting research, policy, and practice. Prior to this, they worked as a Researcher within the same organization.

Before joining AIR, Emily was a self-employed Education Policy Consultant from 2012 to 2014. During this time, they provided consulting services in the education field.

From 2008 to 2012, Emily worked at The Hunt Institute as a Policy Analyst. Emily'sresponsibilities included researching and drafting agendas for major events, recruiting speakers, and writing summary reports.

Emily also has experience in academia. Emily served as a Mentor in the Duke University Football Program from 2007 to 2008. Additionally, they worked as a Policy Analysis Intern at The Public School Forum of North Carolina in 2007, where they wrote articles, analyzed school finance data, and reported on education bills to Forum directors.

Earlier in their career, Emily worked at Duke University as a Staff Specialist from 2004 to 2006. In this role, they managed enrollment information, planned training events, and coordinated staff programs.

Emily Loney, PMP has a strong educational background with a focus on social policy and sociology. Emily obtained a Master of Public Policy degree from Duke University, where they studied social policy from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a BA degree in Sociology and French from the University of Michigan from 1999 to 2004. During their undergraduate studies, they also spent a semester at the IAU Institute for American Universities, where they studied French in 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Emily has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills. Emily is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in December 2017. Emily has also completed certifications in Leading Productive Meetings and Learning Gantt Charts from LinkedIn, both obtained in January 2021.
