Karina Jenkins

Karina Jenkins is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in higher education administration and project management. Currently serving as a Senior Project Specialist and Executive Assistant at the American Institutes for Research since May 2023, Karina previously held the position of Assistant Director of Graduate Enrollment, Pathways & Partnerships at the University of Maryland Baltimore County from February 2020 to May 2023, focusing on enrollment management and collaboration with academic and industry partners. Prior roles at the University of Maryland included Graduate Program Manager and Sociology Academic and Administrative Affairs Coordinator, where responsibilities encompassed strategic planning, faculty and student grant proposal coordination, and overseeing graduate student advising. In earlier experience at the American Sociological Association, Karina managed the Minority Fellowship Program and authored reports on grant statuses for key national organizations. Karina holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Spanish from McDaniel College.
