Melissa Carman has a diverse work experience in human resources. Melissa started their career in 1993 as a Human Resources Specialist at the American Institutes for Aeronautics & Astronautics, where they worked until 1996. From 1996 to 1997, they served as a Human Resources Associate at The Hospital for Sick Children. Following this, they worked as a Manager of Benefits and Compensation at the same organization from 1997 to 1998. Melissa then joined Prospect Associates as the Director of Human Resources from 1999 to 2000. Since 2002, Melissa has been working at the American Institutes for Research, where they currently hold the position of Senior HR Service Center Manager.

Melissa Carman obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from James Madison University, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Human Resource Management at The George Washington University, which they completed between 1994 and 1997.
