Samia Amin

Managing Director, Workforce Innovation And Learning at American Institutes for Research

Samia Amin has extensive experience in research, evaluation, and technical assistance in various sectors. Since 2017, they have been the Managing Director of Workforce Development at the American Institutes for Research, where they lead projects focused on improving workforce programs and adapting to the Future of Work. Prior to this, from 2008 to 2017, they worked at Mathematica Policy Research as a Project Director and Senior Researcher, leading Department of Labor projects and international development projects. From 2006 to 2008, they worked at The World Bank, providing monitoring and evaluation assistance and leading a project on data systems for disaster response. Samia also worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for International Development at Harvard University and as a Junior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. In 2002, they worked as a Summer Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Samia Amin obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College between 1999 and 2003. The degree included studies in Political Science, Classical Studies, and French. Later, from 2004 to 2006, Samia pursued a Master in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School with a focus on Political and Economic Development.
