William Steffen

William Steffen is an experienced educator currently serving as an 8th Grade ELA Teacher at Chestnut TAG Middle School since August 2025. Steffen has also held positions at American International College as an Assistant Professor of English since August 2018 and previously as an Associate Professor, as well as a Professor of English. The teaching portfolio includes a wide range of courses such as Environmental Literature, African American Literature, and Creative Writing. Steffen's prior experience includes roles at Baypath University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where responsibilities included both teaching and research assistance. Steffen holds a PhD in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, complemented by a Master's degree from the same institution and a Bachelor's degree from Hampshire College.
