René Gornall

René Gornall serves as Chief of Staff at the American Journalism Project since 2020, contributing to the organization’s mission of supporting local news through venture philanthropy and civic journalism. Prior experience includes roles as Program & Development Consultant and Director of Development at Opportunity Nation from 2015 to 2020, and Director of Corporate & Foundations Relations at the American Humane Association from 2011 to 2015. Gornall also worked as Development Coordinator at Youth Court of D.C. from 2007 to 2011. René Gornall holds a JD in Law from Penn State Law and a BA in Sociology from Penn State University.
