Karen Kopka

Karen Kopka, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse range of work experience in HR. Karen is currently the Director of Human Resources at the American Licorice Company, where they lead a team and focuses on associate engagement and attracting new talent. Prior to this role, they worked at the same company as a Senior Human Resources Manager and was responsible for implementing employee engagement initiatives. Karen also has experience as an Executive Assistant to the President at Lakeside Wealth Management Group and as a Bookkeeper/Human Resources representative at A Packaging Systems LLC, where they managed payroll and gained practical knowledge in HR.

Karen Kopka, SHRM-SCP, holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University. Karen also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Resources and two Associate's degrees - one in Organizational Leadership & Supervision: Human Resources and the other in Accounting, both from Purdue University Northwest.

In terms of certifications, Karen obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in February 2023. Prior to that, they obtained the Certified Strengths Coach certification from Gallup in December 2022. In 2015, they became an SHRM-Certified Professional and in 2014, they earned the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
