Benjamin Bassett

Benjamin Bassett is a highly skilled marine engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering and Shipyard Management from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Currently serving as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at Maersk Line, Limited since February 2023, Benjamin has accumulated extensive experience in various engineering roles across multiple companies. This includes positions at American Maritime Officers and Crowley, as well as internships in engineering projects at Composite Builders, LLC. Previous cadet roles aboard multiple vessels, including the USNS Comfort and M/V Maersk Durban, provided Benjamin with valuable hands-on experience in engineering maintenance and ship systems. Additionally, Benjamin has experience in emergency services as a Beach Lifeguard for the City of Virginia Beach.
