Carol Vargo has over 25 years of experience in health policy and advocacy, currently serving as the Vice President of Physician Practice Sustainability at the American Medical Association since August 1997. Previous positions include Director of Physician Practice Sustainability in the Strategy Group and Assistant Director of Federal Affairs and Outreach at the same organization. Prior to the American Medical Association, Carol Vargo worked as the Assistant Director of Government Relations at The American College of Obstetricians-Gynecologists from September 1995 to July 1997 and served as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Representative Jim McDermott in Washington from September 1990 to May 1993. Carol Vargo holds a Master of Health Science in Health Policy from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Miami University.
