Mekdes Tsega

Mekdes Tsega, MPH, is a seasoned health equity professional currently serving as the Senior Health Equity Program Manager at the American Medical Association since April 2021. Previously, Mekdes worked at The Commonwealth Fund as a Senior Program Associate and Program Associate, and as a Health Policy Intern at the Alliance of Community Health Plans. Mekdes has diverse experience in health policy research, advocacy, and program management, having held various roles including Residence Hall Director at The George Washington University and internships with organizations such as the National MS Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Mekdes holds a Master’s Degree in Health Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Health and International Studies from Emory University.
