Nancy Colobong Smith has extensive work experience in nephrology nursing and leadership roles. Nancy Colobong is currently serving as the President Elect for the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) starting in 2023. Previously, they held various positions at the University of Washington Medical Center, including Renal & Dialysis & Transplant Clinical Nurse Specialist, Diabetes Nurse Practitioner, Assistant Nurse Manager, Staff Nurse, and Nurse Technician. During their time at the University of Washington, Nancy also co-chaired the Advanced Practice Professionals Council and co-directed the UW CNE Medical Surgical Course. Additionally, they served as the National Director for ANNA from 2018 to 2022.

Nancy Colobong Smith has a diverse education history. From 2004 to 2008, they attended the University of Washington and earned a Master of Nursing degree with a dual focus on Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Specialist.
