Andy Klein has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Andy started their career at the University of Cincinnati as an Assistant Professor (Visiting) before moving on to Oregon State University in 1985. At Oregon State University, they held various roles including Professor, Director of Radiation Center, and Department Head of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health Physics. Andy also served as the Director of Oregon Space Grant. In 2005, Andy joined both Idaho National Laboratory and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Visiting Professor and Director of Education Partnerships, respectively. In 2015, they joined the American Nuclear Society and held positions such as Vice-President/President-Elect, President, and Past President. Currently, they are working as a Professor Emeritus at Oregon State University.
Andy Klein earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State University. Andy attended the university from 1973 to 1977. Later, they pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nuclear Engineering from 1977 to 1983.
