Mary Tong

Mary Tong is an experienced editor with a diverse background in various editorial roles. Currently serving as a Copyeditor and Peer Review Specialist at the American Nuclear Society since September 2020, Mary previously operated as a Freelance Editor from September 2014 to September 2020, working with clients such as Astellas Pharma, the University of Chicago Press, and the Modern Language Association. Mary held significant positions at the University of Chicago Press as a Senior Manuscript Editor and in the Journals Division from June 2005 to June 2014. Earlier career experiences include roles as an Editorial Assistant at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and a Publicity Intern at Perseus Books Group, along with previous positions as an Ad Coordinator and Copywriter. Mary holds a Master of Arts degree in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Japanese from Hope College.
