As a day-to-day consultant and board member for AOP, Dr. Andrews looks forward to sharing his passion for orthopedic medicine to build a world-class national orthopedic practice that prioritizes quality and clinical value.
Dr. Andrews is internationally renowned and respected for his skills as an orthopedic surgeon and his clinical research contributions in knee, shoulder, and elbow injury prevention and treatment. Because of his involvement in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery education and research, Dr. Andrews has made major presentations on every continent, has authored numerous scientific articles and books, and received many awards for his contributions to athletics. He has also served on the boards of several professional orthopedic organizations and mentored hundreds of orthopedic sports medicine fellows and primary care sports medicine fellows.
Dr. Andrews graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU), where he was the Southeastern Conference indoor and outdoor pole vault champion. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from LSU School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic residency at Tulane Medical School. He had surgical fellowships in sports medicine at the University of Virginia Medical School with Dr. Frank McCue, III and the University of Lyon in France, with Albert Trillat, MD, known as the Father of European Knee Surgery.
